The 2^nd Conference of the Hellenic Crystallographic Association

The 2nd conference of the Hellenic Crystallographic Association was held on the 15th and the 16th of October 2004 at the National Centre for Scientific Reasearch “Demokritos”.The conference has addressed key questions and issues in small molecule and macromolecular crystallography as well as other molecular structural issues. There were oral and poster presentations in addition to plenary talks delivered by invited speakers. Five awards sponsored by IUCR were presented to the best posters presented in the conference

2nd Workshop of the Hellenic Crystallographic Association

Before the Conference, October 13-14, 2004, a workshop on the Rietveld Method  took place at the Department of Physics of the University of Athens. Overall 22 graduate students, advanced undergraduates and postdoctoral fellows have attended the school.

Organisers: Drs. M. Kalamiotou (Associate Professor, Department of Physics, University of Athens); V. Perdikatsis (Associate Professor, Department of Mineral Resources Engineering, Technical university of Crete); A. Stergiou (Associate Professor, Department of Physics, University of Thessaliniki) and V. Psicharis (Institute of Material Sciences, NCSR Demokritos).
